So this guide will be useless to you if your router is of a brand which uses some other IP address. The brands which use this specific IP address as their webpanel address are:

  • Trendnet
  • Repotec
  • Zoom
  • Actiontec
  • and Zyxel.

Obviously there may be some other routers which use the address, but the ones listed above definitely do.

192.168.10.1 Default Username and Password

Because the IP address 192.168.10.1 lets users change settings for their routers, it shouldn’t let just about any stranger stroll in and wreak havoc, right? So obviously it requires a login username and password to login.

Now every company pre-configures a set of default Username and Password for their routers. This helps users set their routers up out of the box as the credentials are default for each new router of the same brand and model.

Although again, these login credentials are set by the “router company”. Hence even if your router uses this IP Address it doesn’t mean that the login credentials will be exactly the same as another router which uses the same IP Address.

How to Login 192.168.10.1 Router

By now you know what http://192.168.10.1 is, which brands use it, and what are its default login credentials. The only thing left is to actually log in to the router, isn’t it?

In order to login, simply fire up your browser (no specific browser required, all of those work) and enter http://192.168.10.1 in the address bar. (The place where you write website URLs).

(Note that I’m using a Trendnet router, the exact page will look different based on your exact brand and model, however it’ll definitely have a username and password field).

Enter the default username and password in their respected fields and you should be logged in successfully.

How to Change WiFi Password for 192.168.10.1?

Even though the process would differ for your specific router based on its brand, the overall steps are similar if not identical.

In my case (and yours if you use a Trendnet router), login to the Web Panel and click on “Wireless” from the left-pane.

This would bring up your options for the router’s Wireless setup, click on “Security”.

Then you need to select an Authentication type. If you don’t know what that is, simply select WPA2.

Set the PSK and Cipher type to “PSK” and “TKIP” in case you don’t know what the other options do. And then simply enter a password for your router in the “passphrase” section.

Finally click “Apply” and you’re all done.

If you own a different router, basically find “Wireless” or “WiFi” on the web panel, then find “Security” or “Password”, and with a couple misses you should finally be able to land on the WiFi Password page.

How to change 192.168.10.1 SSID?

SSID stands for Service Set Identifier. In case you wish to change the SSID (name for your WiFi connection, not mandatory yet recommended), click on “Basic” under the “Wireless menu”.
