Sir Christopher Zeeman

Professor of Mathematics

Sir Christopher Zeeman is a renowned Professor of Mathematics best known for his work in geometric topology and singularity theory. After serving as a Flying Officer with the RAF from 1943 to 1947 he received his BA and Phd at Cambridge and set up the mathematics department at Warwick. He presented the 1978 Christmas Lectures and subsequently founded the Ri Masterclass programme. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society and has served as President of both the London Mathematical Society the Mathematical Association.
